Pioneer has given the humble AV receiver a serious make-over, releasing four new AV receiver models, engineered to provide consumers with greater flexibility and control of their audio content in the home.

Whether it’s in relation to flat panel TVs (3D), the rise in digital music purchases for products like iPhones and Smartphone’s, or the demand for Blu-ray entertainment in the home, the VSX-521 is equipped with connectivity and control features previously not see on a sub $500 Pioneer AV receiver.

Ideal for driving all the audio content from your movie and digital music collection, the VSX-521 includes HDMI 1.4 for 3D, Blu-ray audio decoding, wireless Bluetooth audio streaming via an optional adaptor and automatic calibration for easy set-up.With an HDMI Repeater, a single HDMI cable is all you need to transfer both video and audio digitally to the receiver.

Up to 1080p (HD) video signals are supported, as well as x.v.Colour and Deep Colour for vibrant, lifelike colours with smooth gradient transitions. HDMI 1.4 ensures your receiver is 3D ready. If you connect a Blu-ray player featuring HD audio decoding, you will be able to enjoy the uncompressed audio tracks from the latest blockbusters.

When playing music from your portable music player, you are guaranteed an enhanced sound. The Advanced Sound Retriever ‘upscales’ the quality of compressed audio to closely match the original source. Together with the Auto Level Control and MCACC acoustic calibration, this technology results in a dynamic and full sound.

With the optional AS-BT100 Bluetooth adaptor, the VSX-520 features wireless Bluetooth audio streaming from any Bluetooth-enabled iPhone, iPod touch, Android platform, other smart phone or PC. This for example allows you to keep your phone nearby while enjoying music through your home cinema system.
